Salatul Eid and Salatul Jumu'ah on the same day!

BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

As salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi w barakatuhu wa maghfiratuh! According to the following ahadith a person having performed salatul Eid can choice to perform or not to perform salatul Jumu'ah. The imam should perform salatul Jumu'ah for those who missed salatul Eid and for those who did not miss it but wish to perform salatul Jumu'ah, Allah alim!

Fiqh us-Sunnah (vol. 2, page 145)

Salatul Jumu'ah and Salatul 'Id occurring on the same day: "If the day of 'Id occurs on Jumu'ah, then salatul Jumu'ah is no longer an obligation upon those who performed the salatul 'Id.

"Zaid ibn Arqam says: "The Prophet sallallahu alehi wasallam prayed the salatul 'id and then he gave an exemption concerning the Jumu'ah, saying: 'Whoever wishes to pray it may pray it.'" This is related by the five and al-Hakim. Ibn Khuzaimah calls it sahih.

Abu Hurairah reports that the prophet sallallahu alehi wasallam said: "Two festivals have occurred together on this day of yours. For whosoever desires, this will suffice for his salatul Jumu'ah, but we are going to perform salatul Jumu'ah." This is related by Abu Dawud.

It is preferred for the imam to perform the Jumu'ah so anyone who wishes to perform it may do so as well as those who were not able to attend the 'id prayer. The Prophet sallallahu alehi wasallam said: "We are going to perform the salatul Jumu'ah."

According to the Hanbali school, the zuhr is obligatory upon anyone who does not attend the salatul Jumu'ah because he has performed the 'id prayer. Nevertheless, it apparently is not obligatory as there is a hadith in Sunan Abu Dawud in which Ibn az-Zubair says: "'Id and Jumu'ah occurred on the same day so he joined them and prayed two rak'at at an early time, and did not add anything to it until 'asr."

Commentary:

Allah (SWT) is extremely Merciful and He does not put His man through unnecessary difficulty to practice the Deen! He (SWT) requires the Muslims to attend Jumu'ah, which has the khutbah; He (SWT), also, requires Muslims to attend Salatul Eid which has the khutbah! When they both are on the same day this could cause a hardship on many who try to attend both, so, alhamdulillah He (SWT) has given a choice if one has a problem attending both khutbahs, that is, to attend Salatul Eid only.

There is no abrogating any congregational salah! Salatul Jumu'ah must still be held! Note: if one choices not to attend Salatul Jumu'ah then they must pray Salatul Zuhr! Ma'a salaam!

Prophet Muhammad`s (PBUH) Farewell Sermon

This sermon was delivered by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) [Peace Be Upon Him] on the Ninth Day of Dhul Hijjah 10 A.H. in the 'Uranah valley of Mount Arafat' (in Mecca).

After praising, and thanking Allah he said:

"O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and TAKE THESE WORDS TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT BE PRESENT HERE TODAY.

O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds. ALLAH has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity. Allah has Judged that there shall be no interest and that all the interest due to Abbas ibn 'Abd'al Muttalib (Prophet's uncle) shall henceforth be waived...

Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah's trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.

O People, listen to me in earnest, worship Allah, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.

Remember, one day you will appear before Allah and answer your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

O People, no prophet or apostle will come after me and no new faith will be born. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the QURAN and my example, the SUNNAH and if you follow these you will never go astray.

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness, O Allah, that I have conveyed your message to your people".

Prophet Muhammad's Address at Tabuk

In 630 C.E., Prophet Muhammad led an expedition to Tabuk. At Tabuk he delivered a classical address which provides glimpses of his message. After praising Allah T'ala and thanking Him, the Prophet said:

· Verily the most veracious discourse is the Book of Allah.

· The most trustworthy stronghold is the word of piety.

· The best of the religions is the religion of Ibrahim.

· The best of the precedents is the precedent of Muhammad.

· The noblest speech is the invocation of Allah.

· The finest of the narratives is this Qur'an.

· The best of the affairs is that which has been firmly resolved upon.

. The worst in religion are those things which are created without sanction.

· The best of the ways is one trodden by the Prophets.

· The noblest death is the death of a martyr.

· The most miserable blindness is the waywardness after guidance.

· The best of the actions is that which is beneficent.

· The best guidance is that which is put into practice.

· The worst blindness is the blindness of the heart.

. The upper hand is better than the lower hand.

· The little that suffices is better than what is abundant and alluring.

· The worst apology is that which is tendered when death stares one in the face.

· The worst remorse is that which is felt on the day of Resurrection.

· Some men do not come to Friday prayer, but with hesitance and delay. And some of them do not remember Allah but with reluctance.

· The tongue which is addicted to false expression is a bubbling spring of sins.

· The most valuable possession is the contentment of heart.

· The best provision is that of piety.

· The highest wisdom is fear of Allah, the Mighty and the Great.

· The best thing to be cherished in the hearts is faith and conviction; doubt is infidelity.

· Impatient wailing and fulsome laudation of the dead is an act of ignorance.

· Betrayal leads one to the fire of Hell.

· Drinking amounts to burning.

· Obscene poetry is the work of the devil.

· Wine is the mother of all evil.

· The worst thing eaten is one which belongs to the orphan.

· Blessed is he who receives admonition from others.

· Each one of you must resort to a place of four cubit (grave).

· Your affairs would be decided ultimately in the next life.

· The worst dream is false dream.

· Whatever is in store is near.

· To abuse a believer is transgression; raising arms against him is infidelity.

· To backbite him is a disobedience of Allah.

· Inviolability (and sacredness) of his property is like that of his blood.

· He who swears by Allah (falsely), in fact falsifies Him.

· He who pardons others is himself granted pardon.

· He who forgives others, is forgiven by Allah for his sins.

· He who represses anger, Allah rewards him.

· He who faces misfortunes with perseverance, Allah compensates him.

· He who acts only for fame and reputation, Allah disgraces him.

· He who shows patience and forbearance, Allah gives him a double reward.

· He who disobeys Allah, Allah chastises him.

I seek the forgiveness of Allah.
I seek the forgiveness of Allah.
I seek the forgiveness of Allah.

Did Jesus Christ (Prophet Isa (AS) die on the cross?

In the Gospels of Barnabas it tells what actually happened and why.  Prophet Isa, Jesus, (AS) was not nailed to cross; as Allah has stated in the Qur'an; but it appeared to the onlookers that he was.  Allah (SWT) says:

"That they said (in boast) "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah"-But they did not kill him, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for surely they did not kill him!" Qur'an, Al Nisa (4):157

In the Gospels of Barnabas the person who actually was crucified was Judas!  Judas was so anxious to betray Jesus that when the Romans solders went to the house of Lazarus to arrest Jesus Judas, who was with them, went in the door first. There was no other door and only a window. Allah (SWT) in His Mercy took Jesus up to Him as Judas was entering the door and as Judas was entering Allah transformed Judas to look exactly like Jesus. When the Romans came in they saw Jesus and grabbed Judas thinking he was Jesus for he looked just like him. That is why in the Bible it says that Jesus kept denying them when they said he was the king of the Jews; he actually was Judas and truly not Jesus. That is also why in the Bible Jesus cried out on the cross "O God why have you forsaken me?" Jesus was not on the cross; it was Judas looking like Jesus. Judas betrayed Jesus because he truly believed that Jesus was doing the works of Satan fore he was told this by the Rabbis who wanted Jesus dead.  Prophet Jesus did not die; and insha'Allah, he will return!

So why all this?  In the Gospels of Barnabas states that when the disciples saw Jesus nailed to the cross they were devastated with grief.  But Barnabas had traveled with Jesus more than any of the other disciples and Jesus had told him that this would happen and that he, Barnabas, was to let the other disciples know so they would not grieve; but Barnabas forgot.  Jesus looking down from Heaven saw how his disciples were grieving, so he asked Allah (SWT) to allow him to return to let them know he was okay. When Jesus returned to the disciples they asked Jesus why would Allah (SWT) allow his personage to be humiliated even though he was not on the cross?  Jesus said because of what the people were saying about him, i.e.: “Jesus is God or/and Jesus is the son of God"  Both of these statements are incorrect. Allah (SWT) says in the Qur'an:

"And behold! Allah will say "O Jesus the son of Mary! Did you say onto men, "Worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of Allah?" He will say: "Glory to Thee! Never could I had said what I had no right (to say), Had I said such a thing Thou would indeed have known it. Thou knows what is in the heart, though I know not what is in Thine. For Thou knows in full all that is hidden." "Never said I to them aught except what Thou did command me to say, to wit, "Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord', and I was a witness over them while I dwelt among them; when Thou did take me up thou was the Watcher over them, and Thou art a witness to all things" Qur'an, Al Ma'idah (5):116-117

So in the Gospels of Barnabas Jesus was spared punishment in the hereafter because his personage took the humiliation in this would, thereby atoning for the crazy things people were saying about him, alhamdulillah! We can be held responsible for the things others say about us or of us when they are incorrect! We have a responsibility to correct any and all misconceptions. Insha'Allah, I have enlighten you on this. Anything I have said that is incorrect is all from me and I ask Allah's forgiveness; and all that I have said that is correct is from Allah (SWT), alhamdulillah!  Now, you can accept the truth as to the story of Prophet Isa (AS) or you can conjecture as to what happened and make up stories that will mislead the innocent people. When we go to the Qur'an then we have gone to the best authority, Allah(SWT). The Qur'an is the" Speech of Allah."  If you read the Qur'an it is Allah (SWT) speaking directly to you; not anyone else!

The uncensored statement on: Same Sex Marriage in DC and USA!

IN THE NAME OF ALLAH, THE MOST GRACIOUS, THE MOST MERCIFUL
Dear citizens of the District of Columbia and the citizens of these United States heed these words; by not allowing the citizens of moral conscious to vote and letting only the council to decide such a major issue affecting everyone here and our children for generations to come will be nailing one more nail in the coffin of the “End of Days”. The Creator of all of us, God, has already told us how to consider homosexual behavior, it is an abomination! He is the one who created the institution of marriage, therefore, it is sacred! The sanctity of marriage must be protected!

We appeal to your moral conscious to not act on this alone, but let the enter community have a say by allowing a vote. Those who consider themselves as friends of God must stand up and be counted by doing the right thing by not allowing the marriages that do not meet the standards set by God. The issue is a community issue and the behavior of some are offensive to the moral fiber of the community of the United States. Same sex marriages if allowed will lead to the extermination of the human race because there is no procreation.

It would be nice to say that this did not happen before in human history but it has, remember Sodom and Gomorrah how our dear Prophet Lot and his family were saved from such behavior! Allah says in His Qur'an:

And (Remember) Lot: behold, he said to his people: you do commit lewdness such as no people in Creation (ever) committed before you. Do you indeed approach men, and cut off the highway? And practice abominations in your meetings? But his people gave no answers but this: “Bring us the wrath of Allah if you tell the truth!” He said: “ O my Lord! Help Thou me against people who do mischief!” Qur'an 29:28-30

"The people of Lot rejected his warning. We sent a violent tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them) except the family of Lot, whom We rescued in the last watch of the night," Qur'an 54:33-34

Therefore, I say: “ O! Allah, help us against these people who do great mischief!”

Note: The Qur'an was not sent to just the Muslims but it was sent to all of mankind. The Qur'an is Allah's Speech and therefore He is speaking directly to every human being, all of us. Take heed! He wants us all to serve and worship and obey Him alone!

Do you really believe the Creator of us all will be pleased with same sex marriages? I truly don't think so! And remember Rome! Need we have the raft of God befall us too! It is time for the morally upright citizens to stand up to this diabolical evil!

If we act we will cause others across this great nation to act!

SWT = Subhanahu Wata'ala = Glory be to Him, the Most High. Say this after you say Allah (SWT) or any of His other Names.

SAW: Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam: May Allah's peace and blessing be upon him. This should be said openly or silently after saying or hearing or writing or reading the name of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

We should dhikr and seek Allah's(SWT) forgiveness much!

Dhikr means remembrance. For a Muslim dhikr means remembering Allah (SWT). We should dhikr often. If we could dhikr every second of every minute of every day of every week of month of every year of our lives we would not have dhikred enough! Please dhikr often; this will purify your heart, insha'Allah!

Al-Tirmithi has stated that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (SAW) once and said, "O Messenger of Allah(SAW)! Islam's legislation seem to me to have become numerous; so, could you please teach me something I should uphold to?" He (SAW) answered, "Keep your tongue wet by mentioning the Name of Allah." WP 24

The Messenger of Allah (SAW) has said, "Allah surely loves one who persists and who keeps repeating his plea to Him." WP 27

Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (as) is quoted saying, "Allah, the Praised and Exalted One, hates to see people persist in pressing one another regarding an issue, but He loves to be persistently asked. Allah loves to be pleaded to grant of what is with Him. WP 27

The Messenger of Allah (SAW) has said, "The best of supplication is seeking Allah's forgiveness."

He (SAW) has also said, "Whoever upholds seeking forgiveness of Allah, He shall find a solution for each and every problem he faces and the removal of the cause of his distress, and He shall sustain him from whence he does not expect." This tradition has been reported by Ibn Abbas (as).

Note: We should seek Allah's forgiveness even when we are not aware of any wrong doing by us. We commit wrongs often and we are not aware of them. Praise Allah (SWT) much and seek His forgiveness much!

Explanation of Kalimas and Duas

1. We should say this before whatever we do that is halal. We should recite this before reciting the Qur'an. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said; "Whoever wishes to win this life and the life to come has to recite it at the beginning of whatever he does." greeting, or (at least) of equal courtesy, Allah takes careful account of all things." Qur'an "Anything of any significance which is not initiated with it is incomplete unblessed, and it will not bring bliss." When say this before things we want to accomplish Allah (SWA) bless us to successful, insha' Allah.

2. Try this as a reply to a greeting given to you by your follow Muslim. Allah (SWA) says, "When a (courteous) greeting is offered you, meet it with a greeting still more courteous, or of equal courtesy. Allah takes careful account of all things." Qur'an 4:86. As an example: As salaamu alaikum. As salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullah. As salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. As salaamu alaikum rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu wa maghfiratuh!

3. Tasbeeh (to say subhan-Allah). Honoring Allah and precluding Him from all that is ascribed to Him is called Tasbeeh. Subhan Allah means praise of Allah. Subhan means pure and chaste but it implies pure from what is ascribed to Him. He is above all that can be conceived. He is beyond all that can be ascribed to Him. He is greater than what can be conceived or expressed. It is in this sense that Subhan means pure and chaste and Subhan Allah thus means holiness and glorification to Allah. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "One who makes Tasbeeh, praises Allah Almighty, a hundred times will receive rewards better than one who recruits a hundred men for Jihad in the way of Allah."

4. All praises are due to Allah. Thanking Allah! The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said. "One who says hamd, praises the Almighty Allah, a hundred times, will receive rewards better than one who provides as many as one hundred horses fully equipped for Jihad,"

5. Takbeer: to say Allahu Akbar. "The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "Anyone who recites the takbeer, glorification of Allah Almighty, a hundred times, will receive rewards better than one who sets a hundred slaves free."

6. Tahleel: to say La ilaha illallah. The Messenger of Allah (SAW), "One who says La ilaha illa-Allah a hundred times becomes the best in deeds of all other people on that day except those who said more than that."

7. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) was asked once about what is the best to say, "Say what Allah chose for His angles and true servants to say, which is, Subhan Allahi wa Bihamdih. He (SWA) has also said, "Anyone who says Subhan Allah wa Bihamdih a hundred times each day, all his sins will be removed even if they were as many as meerschaum."

8. Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash 'ari: The Prophet (SAW) started ascending a high place or hill. A man (amongst his companions) ascended it and shouted in a loud voice. "La ilaha illal-lahu wallahu Akbar." (At that time) Allah's Apostle (SAW) was riding his mule. Allah's Apostle (SAW) said, "You are not calling upon the deaf or an absent one." and added, "O Abu Musa (or, O 'Abdullah)! Shall I tell you a sentence from the treasure of Paradise?" I said, "Yes." He said, "La haula wala quwwata illa bil-lah." Bukhari 418

9. Insha'Allah will bless you much for reciting this as much as many hundreds of blessings each time.

10. "If somebody recites this invocation during the night, and if he should die then, he will go to Paradise (or he will be from the people of Paradise). And if he recites it in the morning, and if he should die on the same day, he will have same fate." Bukhari 335

11. Bukhari 338

12. Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib (as) is quoted saying that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) has asked him, "Shall I give you, O Ali, the equivalent of [the fortune of] five thousand she-camels and teach you five words wherein the uprightness of both your creed and your life in this world are embedded?" He (as) said, "Yes, indeed, O Messenger of Allah (SAW)! Please do teach me!' the Messenger of Allah (SAW) instructed him to recite thus, "Lord! I plead You to forgive my sin, improve my temperament, make my sustenance good, make me contented with what You have bestowed upon me, and do not permit my heart to covet that which You have decreed I will never have." This tradition has been recorded by Ibn al-Najjar in his Tarikh. WP 56

13. This supplication is called khatimatul-faraj, i.e. one which concludes a state of distress by bringing it to its termination, and it is narrated by Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (as) who quotes his ancestors, peace be upon them. Gabriel (as) said, 'O Muhammad! I swear by the One Who sent you to bear the Message of Truth, no member of your nation invokes Allah thus except that his sins will be forgiven if they were as many as meerschaum, or as much as the dust of the earth, and Allah will not face any member of your nation who knows this supplication by heart except that Paradise becomes eager to receive him, and his spot [where he will stand on the Day of Judgment] will seek Allah's forgiveness on his behalf, and the gates of Paradise will be opened for him and the angels will call upon him and say, "O servant of Allah! Enter from any gate you like!" WP 62

Speech at interfaith prayer service at Unity Center of Light in Bowie, Maryland USA

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, The Most Merciful!
I greet everyone with Peace!

Allah is an Arabic word meaning: “The God”.

The short meaning of Islam is Peace; but the best meaning is “entire submission to the Will of Allah”.

If we submit entirely to Allah's Will then we would truly have Peace. A person who submits to the Will Allah is called Muslim. A Muslim is one who is trying to submit to the Will of Allah.

Everyone is born Muslim, i.e., man is born with the innate desire to submit to the Will of the Creator!

This is the month of RAMDAN. Today over one and half billion Muslims are fasting for the Pleasure of Allah.

Ramadan is the lunar month in which the Holy Qur'an was brought down from the highest heaven to the lowest heaven and reviewed to Prophet Muhammad by the Angel Gabriel, the messenger angel; it took twenty three years for the entire Qur'an to be revealed to him.

The reason for the Qur'an at this time is that man had gone far astray of Allah's teachings to man. Man had mixed His words with falsehood and was worshiping idols.

Therefore, the Qur'an is not only for Muslims, but is for all Mankind!

The Qur'an is not part of Allah's creation, but is Allah's speech!

Allah is speaking directly to Mankind!

Allah is giving Mankind good news and a warning!

The good news is that if man worships only Him and seek Allah's Pleasure in every thing he does, man will enter paradise on the day of Judgment.

The warning is that if man chooses not to obey Allah and worships Him any way he thinks is okay than he is destined to the Hellfire.

In the Qur'an Allah is telling Mankind exactly how He wants man to worship Him.

Allah says: "There is no god worthy of worship but Allah; and Muhammad is Messenger and Prophet." Muslims accept and love all 124,000 of Allah's prophets with Prophet Muhammad being the last.

Allah wants all of us to believe this and act on it by accepting Islam as our way of life or religion.

Let is pray!

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Say: He is Allah, The One and and Only,

Allah, the Eternal, Absolute,

He begets not nor is He begotten, and there is none like unto Him,

Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds;

Most Gracious, Most Merciful, Master of the Day of Judgment.

You do we worship and Your aid we seek.

Show us the straight way; the way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace; those whose portion is not wrath and who go not astray.

O Allah! Bless everyone here to seek your Pleasure by by submitting to Your Will in Islam!

Amen

WAYS TO FIGHT BACK AGAINST SHAITAN

Are you having marital problems?
Do you procrastinate?
Are you forgetful and absentminded?
Are you fearful of poverty and other thing besides Allah (SWT)?
Do you tell little white lies? Do you tell lies?
Do you feel confused and restless?
Do you get into arguments about the Qur’an and the Sunnah without knowledge?
Do you feel it is right to call out your Muslim brother to fight when you can not get your way?
Are you a spendthrift?
Do you like to call people out of their name; giving them offensive nick names?
Do you feel comfortable at home in the nude or exposing you private parts to others?

Every one of these is caused by the whispering of Shaitan! We have forgotten about Shaitan and he is having his way with us. The Muslim Ummah is and has been under attack by the armies of Shaitan and very few of us are fighting back. Look at the Ummah around the world; we can write volumes of books on the destruction that is present due to our lazy indifference to Shaitan. Shaitan laughs at us and we seem to not to care. There are some Muslims who do not believe Shaitan exist and there some who don’t believe he has much to do with them. How wrong they are. There is a saying, “A chain is as strong as its weakest link. Well, the Muslim Ummah is as strong as it weakest member. We have too many weak members.

Well, it is time to go on the offence! We the True Believers must stop allowing Shaitan to have his way with us! Let’s start an aggressive offensive against Shaitan. We can not beat him but we sure can limit the amount of influence he has on us. We can bring peace back to our homes. The Muslim Ummah can become the model to mankind as it once was.

I have compiled a list of weapons that Allah (SWT) and Prophet Muhammad (SAW) have given us to repel Shaitan; Qur’anic verses and hadiths. Please study and try very hard to put everything you find there into practice every day.

WARNING: Shaitan will fight back…he will get real ugly when you start repelling him if you haven’t been doing these things in the past. Do not let him stop you! It will be tough and hard to keep the fight up; but once you start don’t stop no matter what he does! We are one Ummah and let us wage a mighty war against Shaitan who is destroying our very souls. Remember we can not beat Shaitan but with the help of Allah (SWT) we can keep him at bay!

REPELLING SHAYTAN

The Congregation (Jama’ah):

“If there are three men (or in a town or in the desert (open space) among whom prayer is not established in jama’ah (congregation), except Shaitan will overcome them. So, cling to the jama’ah for indeed the wolf devours the lone sheep.” [ Abu Dawud’s Sunan (547)]

“A single rider (on a journey) is a Shaitan, and two riders (on a journey) are two Shaitan’s, but three (or more on a journey) are a company of riders.” [Abu Dawud’s Sunan (2607)]

“When the people stopped (and encamped) at a place they dispersed (and spread out from each other) in the woods and valleys, then the Messenger of (SWA) said, Your dispersing in these woods and valleys is from Shaitan.”

After that they did not stop (or encamp) at any place except that they kept so close together. They would be encamped to such an extent that it used to be said that if a cloth were spread over them, it would cover them all.” [Abu Dawud’s Sunan (1664)]

SEEKING REFUGE IN ALLAH

Allah the Most High says, ”So when you want to recite the Qur’an, seek refuge with Allah from Shaitan, the outcast.” [Surah An-Nahl (16):98]

When entering the Masjid:

A’uodhu bilaahil adbeem wa bi wajhihil kareem wa sultanibil qadeem min as-shaitaani rajeem. “I seek refuge (and protection) in Allah, The Great, and in His Noble Face and everlasting authority, from the accursed Shaitan.” [Abu Dawud’s Sunan (466)]

When whispering during the prayer:

“O Messenger of Allah (SAW) verily Shaitan comes between me and my prayer and recitation making me confused The Messenger of Allah (SAW) replied, that is a shaitan called Khanzab so if you sense his presence then seek refuge in Allah from him and spittle on your left three times. He said, I said that and Allah took him away from me.” [Saheed Muslim (14/189-190)]

When angry:

“I was sitting with the Prophet of Allah (SWA) and two men were insulting one another. He face one of them had become red and his jugular veins puffed up (out of anger), so the Prophet (SWA) said. ‘I surely know a word would he have said it, that which he is experiencing would have left him, “A’uoodhu billaahi min ash-shaitaani rajeem.”

“I seek refuge (and protection in Allah from the accused Shaitan.”
He replied, ‘Did I become mad!’ [Saheed Bukhari (3282,6048,61150; Saheed Muslim (16/163-1640]

“And if evil whisper comes to you from Shaitan then seek refuge with Allah. Verily He is the All-Seer, The All-Knower.” [Surah al-A’raaf (7):200]

When one sees something in his dream which he dislikes.

“The good dream is from Allah so if any of you sees something in his dream that he likes then he should tell only ones he loves and if he sees something he dislikes then he should seek refuge with Allah from the evil of the dream for it is from Shaitan so let him spittle three times and not tell anyone about it for it cannot harm him.” [Saheed Bukhari (7004); Saheed Muslim (15/19-20)]

Regarding the evil eye and jealousy:

“I seek refuge (and protection) with Your Perfect Words from every Shaitan and poisonous creature and from every evil, harmful envious eye.” [Saheed Bukhari (3371)

Quarrelling and arguing over the Qur’an (Don’t do it!)

I think, I feel, I believe are not acceptable ways to discuss Allah’s Speech, the Qur’an. You must know (have proper knowledge, i.e., I know based on etc.) according to proper tafsir from Allah, His Messenger (SAW) or the Salaf. Your personal opinion or tafsir is of Shaitan. The Ummah doesn’t need your personal opinion of Allah’s Speech.

“And among man s he who disputes concerning Allah, without knowledge, and follows every rebellious devil. From him (shaytan) is decreed that whoever follows him, he will mislead him, and will drive him to the torment of the Fire.”
[Surah al-Hajj (22):3-4]

“Verily those who dispute about the ayat of Allah without any authority having come to them there is nothing else in their breasts except pride. They will never have it (prophet hood). So seek refuge in Allah, verily it is He who is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.” [Surah al-Ghafir(40):56]

And among man is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge or guidance or a Book. Bending his neck in pride and leading too astray from the Path of Allah. For him there is disgrace in this worldly life, and the Day of Resurrection. We shall make him taste the torment of burning (Fire). That is because of what your hands have sent forth, and verily, Allah is not unjust to (His) servants.” [Surah al-Hajj(22):8-10]

THE BISMILLAH! IN THE NAME OF ALLAH!

When leaving the house:

“Bismillaahi tawwakalu ‘ala Allaahi la hawla la quwata illa billaahi”
(In the name of Allah, I put my trust in Allah, there is neither power nor might except with Allah) It will be said to him: You are guided, sufficed and protected. Shaitan will turn away from him and one Shaitan will say to another: What can you do about a man who is guided, sufficed and protected.” [Abu Dawud’s Sunan (5090)]

When entering the house and when you eat:

“When a person enters his house and he remembers Allah’s name, as well as when he eats, Shaitan says: there is no way that we can inhabit and sleep here or eat at this house. However, when he enters the house without remembering the name of Allah, Shaitan says we have a place to live tonight; and if he does not remember the name of Allah at the time of eating, shaitan says we have tonight a place to stay and food to eat." [Saheed Muslim (The Book of Drinks (Kitab Al-Ashriba), Hadith #: 5006)]

Upon sexual intercourse:

“Bismillah Allahumma jannihna ash-shaitaan wa jannib ash-shaitaan marazaqatana.”
“In the name of Allah, O Allah, keep the Shaitan from us and keep Shaitan away from what You have blessed us with. Then Shaitan would never harm that child.
[Saheed Bukhari (141, 3271, 3283, 5165, 7396)]

Reciting certain portions of the Qur’an:

“Do not make your houses graves, for shaitan flees from a house which Surah al-Baqarah is recited.” [Saheed Muslim (6/67- Nawan)]

Reciting Ayat al-Kursi:

It was narrated that Abu Umamah Al-Bahili (RA) said: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said; “Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi immediately after each prescribed Prayer, there will be nothing standing between him and his entering Paradise except death.” [an-Nasa’l, Ibn Sunni, at-Tabarani, ibn Hibban - Sahih]

When you lie down in your bed, recite Ayat al-Kursi, and then you will have a protector from Allah and no shaitan will come near you until morning comes. [Saheed Bukhari]

It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said; “In Surat- al-Baqarah there is a verse which is the best of all the verses of Qur’an. It is never recited in a house but Shaitan leaves: Ayat al-Kursi.”

Abdullah bin Mas’ud (RA) narrates that a person said to the Prophet (SAW): “O Messenger of Allah (SAW), teach me something through which Allah (SWT) will give me benefit.” He said: “Continue reciting Ayatul Kursi. This will be a means of protection for you, your children and even those houses which are near your house.”

It is reported by at-Tabrani that the Prophet (SAW) said: “The one who recites Ayat al-Kursi after the conclusion of an obligatory prayer, he is under the care of Allah until the next prayer commences.” [at-Tabarani’s At Targheeb wat-Tarheeb (2:435)]

The Prostration of Recitation:

“When the son of Adam reads a verse of prostration, then prostates, shaitan departs from him and cries saying, ‘Woe to me the son of Adam was ordered to prostrate and he did so and he will be granted paradise, and I was ordered to prostate and disobeyed so I will enter the Hellfire.” [Saheed Muslim (2/68)]

For the fifteen places in the Qur’an to prostrate go to:
http://www.ummah.net/Al_adaab/Quran_Majid/recommended_prostrations_for_sajda.html

The Adhan and the Iqamah:

“When the call to prayer is made Shaitan runs away and breaks wind to drown out (in order to not to hear the adhan). When the adhan is completed he returns but when the iqamah is proclaimed he again turns and flees, when it is finished he returns to cause distraction in the heart of a person saying: Remember such and such, remember how many rakats he has prayed. If he doesn’t recall the number of rakats prayed, he prostrates in prostration of forgetfulness.” [Saheed Bukhari (608, 1222,1231,3285-al-fath); Saheed Muslim (4/95)]

“Whenever the adhan is called, shaitan runs back vehemently.” [Saheed Muslim (4/90-9] Even if said when it is not time for salat.

Yawning:

“Yawning is from Shaitan. If one of you yawns, restrain it as much as you can. If one of you says, ‘Ah!’ while yawning, Shaitan laughs at him.” [Saheed Bukhari and Saheed Muslim]

Straightening the Rows During Salah:

“Stand close together in your rows, bring them close together and line up your shoulders for by The One in whose Hand is my soul, I can see shaitan passing through the gaps in rows like a missile.” [.” Abu Dawud’s Sunan (667)]

Prostration of Forgetfulness:

“If one of you starts to doubt in his prayer and does not know how many rakats he has prayed – three or four – then let him cast away the doubt and build upon what he is certain of. Then let him perform two prostrations before giving salaam. So if he has prayed his prayer will become even for him, and if he prayed the complete four rakats it will be a humiliation for shaitan,” [Saheed Muslim (5/60)]

Moving the Finger in Tashahud:

“It is more severe upon the shaitan than iron, meaning the finger.” [Ahmad’s Musnad (2/119)]

Remembrance(ad-Dhikr)of Allah:

On the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (SWA) said; “Whoever says:’ La illah illa-allahu wahdahu la shareka lahu, lahul mulku lahul hamdu wa huwa ala kulli shayin qader’, (there is none worthy of worship except Allah alone, He has no partner, sovereignty belongs to Him and for Him is all praise and He is capable over all things), one hundred times in a day there is a reward for him equal to the freeing of ten slaves, and one hundred good actions are recorded for him, and one hundred wrong actions are removed from his record. That will be a safeguard for him against shaytan on that day until the evening, and no one brings anything more excellent than this except the one who has done more than this (that is, who recites these words more than on hundred times).”
[Saheed Bukhari (3293,64830; Saheed Muslim (17/170]

Allah! there is no Allah but He, the living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permits? He knows what (appears to His creatures as) Before or After or Behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He wills. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. For He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory). 255

Africans in Prophet Muhammad's family household!

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem!
As salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu wa maghfiratuh!

I have been studying the seerah of our dear beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) for a long time and I am in the process of writing a seerah based on my studies, inhsa'Allah. I will make a few very brief statements concerning the Africans in Prophet Muhammad's (SAW) personal life. We know about Bilal, but...

The first African in Prophet Muhammad's family life:

On the way home from Yathrib to Mecca, Prophet Muhammad's mother, Aminah died. Before she died she told her servant Barakah, Umm Ayman, to care for Muhammad as your own son. Barakah, an Abyssinian, was about seventeen years old. After Aminah died most seerah's in English will state that Muhammad was taken to his grandfather who took care of him for about a year till he died.

As most know a young child is raised by women and it was no different for young Muhammad (about eight at the time). Even though he was in the care of his grandfather, everyday needs were provided for by his mother. Yes, I said his mother! Barakah became his mother when Aminah passed. Barakah had promised Aminah to raise Muhammad like her own son, which she did. Young Muhammad slept at the foot of Barakah's bed. Barakah cloth him, fed him and taught him. We can only speculate as to what she taugt him. Most mothers will teach their son about God and right and wrong, about her life and were she came from, i.e. We can conclude that Prophet Muhammad learned about Abyssinia and the Negus from his Ummi as he called her. Barakah took care of Muhammad until he got Married, at which time Lady Khadijah (RA) and Prophet Muhammad encouraged her to get married to a man in Yathrib.

They felt that she had sacrificed her youth caring for Muhammad and now was her chance to have a life of her own. From that marriage she had a son, Ayman; this is why she is better known as Umm Ayman. Barakah was the first to see and touch Prophet Muhammad, being the midwife present when he was born; also, she was present when he returned to Allah (SWT).

The second African person in Prophet Muhammad's family life:

On getting married to Lady Khadijah (RA), she gave him a gift of a male servant named Zaid. Zaid was of African decent. Prophet Muhammad grew to love Zaid dearly and the feeling was the same with Zaid; he turned down returning to his real father when his real father found him. Zaid,"The Beloved One", choice to stay with Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The third African in Prophet Muhammad's family life:

Many years later after Zaid (RA) had married and divorced and Barakah (RA)had become a widow they married. Zaid and Barakah had a son named Usamah,"The Beloved Son of the Beloved", who who was later to be appointed head of the army by Prophet Muhammad (SAW) just before his passing. Usamah (RA) was about twenty years old. There is a great deal that can be said about these three dynamic Muslims but I will keep this short. Ma'a salaam!
